Coordinator, spoke on the status of Bradford housing in wanting a "clean site" before they <br /> moving to the Request For Proposal phase. She stated the Kaiser piece would require <br /> further talks with Kaiser. <br /> Council asked about the Hoover Field replacement and also asked for further context on <br /> improvements upcoming, other than just the resources and monies needed, and whether <br /> they could include opportunities on Main Street. Mr. Vorametsanti commented on the <br /> deterioration of the field and the need for replacement and the previous manufacturer's <br /> warranty on the site. Council asked questions about the archway and parking, the use <br /> statistics for Hoover field and the Park Feasibility Study. <br /> Mayor Foust thanked the community for the vote on the UUT, and she explained how this <br /> money is used for capital improvement. Council asked questions about piping and whether <br /> there would be a leap in the technology for sewer and water so that more could be done <br /> with less money, and was told they are doing the best they can to use the best materials <br /> and specifications for long-term feasibility. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Review the proposed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget for Fiscal Years <br /> 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 for consistency with Council priorities. Provide direction <br /> to staff on desired adjustments such that the final recommended CIP may be <br /> considered during formal budget review scheduled in June, 2008. <br /> 9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br /> City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br /> Priority Focus Bulletin No. 16-2008 and 17-2008. Council may direct staff to act on <br /> positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br /> available in City Clerk's Department). <br /> B. Council Reports on Committee Meetings Attended. <br /> 1. Council Member Bain reported that the next City/County Governments meeting <br /> will be on May 22, 2008. <br /> 2. Council Member Ira stated the press release came out about the South Bayside <br /> Systems Authority capital improvement program with the first round of financing <br /> approved. <br /> 3. Vice Mayor Howard stated she is the chair of the Peninsula Traffic Congestion <br /> Relief Alliance and she spoke about two projects, the free shuttle, with the pilot <br /> project starting on June 3, 2008, and a ribbon cutting and naming contest later <br /> for the shuttle. She also spoke on May 15, 2008 and "Bike to Work Day." She <br /> provided information about the energizer stations.
