2/23/2004 <br />sac ", shall be temporarily closed and the maximum parking period and rate of parking <br />fees that may be charged for parking on said street should be suspended. <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has submitted a report to the City Council stating <br />his belief that traffic congestion is likely to occur on Middlefield Road from Veterans <br />Boulevard to Bradford Street as a result of the number, size or type of news media <br />vehicles operating within close proximity to the San Mateo County Superior Court; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to section 20.94 of the Redwood City Municipal Code, the <br />City Manager is authorized to order temporary signs be erected or posted indicating that <br />the operation, parking or standing of vehicles is prohibited on Middlefield Road from <br />Veterans Boulevard to Bradford Street, as well as the Fuller cul de sac, during the time <br />such temporary signs are in place; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to section 20.133 of the Redwood City Municipal Code, the <br />City Council may suspend the maximum period of parking permitted and the rate of <br />parking fees within the Middlefield parking area, as well as the Fuller cul de sac; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redwood City Police Department Parking Management Plan <br />recommends vehicle parking licenses be issued to news media vehicles desiring to park <br />at the Middlefield parking area, the Fuller cul de sac, or the City's parking lot located at <br />the intersection of Main Street and Bradford Street; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Redwood City Police Department <br />recommend that any such vehicle parking license be issued subject to a maximum <br />monthly parking fee of One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty -five Dollars <br />($1,765.00) for vehicle parking at the Middlefield parking area and the Fuller cul de sac <br />and a maximum monthly parking fee of One Hundred Ten Dollars ($110.00) for vehicle <br />parking on the City's parking lot located at the intersection of Main Street and Bradford <br />Street. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City Manager's determination that traffic congestion is likely to occur on <br />Middlefield Road from Veterans Boulevard to Bradford Street is hereby <br />ratified, and that temporary signs shall be erected or posted indicating that the <br />operation of generally westbound vehicular traffic on Middlefield Road <br />beginning approximately one hundred and fifty feet (150) westerly of <br />Veterans Boulevard to Bradford Street is hereby prohibited and that no <br />vehicles shall park or stand within said street unless otherwise provided <br />hereby. <br />2.
