7.B. - Page 96
Redwood City Chapter 4.Environmental Impact Analysis
The project site is located over 10 miles away from the Pacific Ocean and is generally considered too
far away to be subject to a tsunami. As such, impacts related to tsunamis would not occur.Similarly,
a seiche could occur within San Francisco Bay;however, the project area is not located along the San
Francisco Bay shoreline, but rather far behind islands separated by waterways, and not within a
flood zone.Due to this distance from the San Francisco Bay shoreline, any seiche activity in the bay
would not impact the project area, and new impacts related to seiche inundation would not occur.
The proposed modifications would not contribute to inundation by a mudflow. The project site is
relatively flat and within a fully developed area. There are no steep slopes near the project site and
the area is not included or adjacent to an earthquake-induced landslide zone, and is not located
within a flood zone.As a result, the proposed modifications would not have the potential to
contribute to inundation by a mudflow. No new impact would occur.
Addendum No.2 to the Environmental Impact Report for 4-51 September 2012
the Redwood City Costco Wholesale Project ICF 00154.12
