Description of Services to be Performed by the Contractor A. Redwood City 2020 will provide North Fair Oaks Community Plan Communications Services by contracting with an individual or organization to fulfill the following job description: i. North Fair Oaks Community Plan Communications Coordinator Job Description The Communications Coordinator plays a lead role in coordinating activities across a diverse set of stakeholders that includes public agencies, business owners,residents, school leadership, community based leadership,youuth and regional agencies. Responsibilities include the following: Build partnerships and"connect the dots"with diverse groups of stakeholders from across San Mateo County and specifically within North Fair Oaks(NFO). Serve as a source of information and communication link for community members,organizations and community- based initiatives. Develop and distribute ongoing communication about the steps being taken to implement the North Fair Oaks Community Plan. Work closely with Planning Department to monitor implementation timelines, priorities,areas requiring extra support or other needs. Facilitate and mobilize community and department support for implementation. Identify communications channels and craft strategies,write communication pieces including newsletters,presentations,press and other items. Work in cooperation with outside agencies and community based organizations to know what is happening with implementation. Deliver presentations to community groups or agencies and represent the NFO Implementation process across many community venues. Facilitate workgroups as necessary and able. Specific tasks include: • Develop and maintain a database of all NFO Plan stakeholders • Work with Communications Committee to develop and carry out a NFO Communication Plan including: regular newsletter;holding update sessions; e-blasts/e-newsletter;website or other"one stop shop" • Facilitate the Communications Workgroup • Publicize successes through newspapers and radio • Track implementation activities and serve as the"go to"person on all related activities—person doesn't need to be involved in implementation at all levels,but needs to know what is going on and how to connect people • Maintaining a master calendar of implementation workgoups/related implementation activities and publicizing this calendar • Working with the other workgroups to develop timelines and brainstorm implementation strategies and "connecting the dots"across workgroups • Recruit community member participation for workgroups and connect interested community members to implementation activities. • Staffing the Quarterly Implementation Coardination Meetings including agenda preparation,promotion of the meeting and maintaining documentation in coordination with Oversight Group. • Identify issues and areas where progress is not taking place and bring these concerns to the Oversight Group • Identify who is responsible for areas of implementation that are community priority and identify strategies for moving these forward;where problems arise bring these to the Oversight Group The ideal candidate will be bilingual,bicultural and familiar with the North Fair Oaks Community.
