7.A. - Page 151 �/holesale Redwood City GDF Expansion <br /> Air Quality/Climate Change Analysis <br /> Page 17 <br /> Environmental Impacts <br /> This Section updates the Environmental Impacts discussion presented in Section 4.5.3 of the <br /> 2007 Certified EIR. <br /> Demolition/Construction. <br /> Construction of the proposed additional eight fueling positions at the Costco Redwood City GDF <br /> will involve the following activities adjacent to and north of the existing facility: removing existing <br /> asphalt and concrete, below-grade earthwork, relocating an existing storm drain, preparing base <br /> material prior to paving, asphalt paving and concrete work, extending fuel lines, installing fueling <br /> positions, installing a canopy for the new fueling positions, landscaping, and pavement striping. <br /> These construction activities are expected to result in fugitive dust emissions associated with <br /> material handling and earth movement; on-site combustion emissions associated with off-road <br /> equipment operation; off-site combustion emissions associated with on-road haul and concrete <br /> trucks, and on-road employee vehicles; and off-gassing emissions associated with asphalt <br /> paving and pavement striping. <br /> Detailed documentation of construction activity emission calculations is presented in Appendix <br /> A. With respect to fugitive PM,o and fugitive PM2.5, Costco Wholesale has <br /> agreed to implement all Basic Construction Mitigation Measures listed in Table 18, to comply <br /> with the BAAQMD's recommended best management practices threshold for fugitive dust. As a <br /> result, criteria pollutant emissions associated with construction of the proposed 20-position GDF <br /> would be less than significant. <br /> Operational Criteria Pollutant Emissions. <br /> Operation of the proposed expanded Costco Wholesale Redwood City GDF is expected to <br /> result in fewer total trips but more net new daily trips as compared to the facility evaluated in the <br /> 2007 Certified EIR. The 2007 Certified EIR anticipated that the 16-position GDF would result in <br /> 410 net new weekday trips. A conservative estimate for the proposed 20-position GDF is 750 <br /> 7/30/2012 <br />
