Values may not sum to total due to rounding.) <br /> Carbon Monoxide "Hot Spots". <br /> The 2007 Certified EIR evaluated the potential for carbon monoxide "hot spots" associated with <br /> relocating the main site entrance from Charter Street to Willow Street and found impacts to be <br /> less than significant. The proposed 20-position GDF is expected to increase vehicle trips <br /> through the intersection of Middlefield Road and Willow Street to approximately 2,615 vehicles <br /> per peak hour.' Since this is far below the Bay Area AQMD's conservative screening threshold <br /> of 44,000 vehicles per peak hour, the project would have a less than significant impact on <br /> carbon monoxide "hot spots." <br /> Queuing Impacts on Ambient Air Quality. <br /> Based on modeling conducted for the 2007 Certified EIR, idling emissions associated with <br /> vehicle queuing would result in only small increases in ambient short-term air pollutant <br /> concentrations. Dispersion modeling demonstrated that ambient short-term CO, NO2, and PM,o <br /> 'The July 30, 2012 Preliminary Transportation Assessment indicates that the proposed 20-position GDF will increase <br /> external trips by 80 trips/peak hour(Kittelson, 2012a,Table 22). Correcting for pass-by trips that already would be <br /> passing through the intersection (10 trips/hour)leaves an estimated 70 additional trips/hour through the intersection <br /> of Middlefield and Willow. The Preliminary Transportation Assessment also shows the current peak hour traffic count <br /> through the Middlefield/Willow intersection to be 2,545 vehicles/hour(Kittelson, 2012a, Table 4). Total estimated <br /> traffic volume through the intersection with the proposed 20-position GDF therefore would be approximately 2,615 <br /> vehicles/peak hour. <br /> 7/30/2012 <br />
