'12-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANN[NG COMMISSION �F THE CITY OF REDWOOD C1TY APPROVING A U5E PERMfT MODIFICATION AND A NEW ARCHITECTURAL PERMIT FOR THE COSTCO GASOLINE STATION EXPANSION PROJECT AT 2300 MIDDLEFIELD RQAD PURSUANT TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDlNANCE WHEREAS, Costco Wholesale ("Applicant") submitted applicatians to the City of Redwood City {"City") for modification of existing Use Permit No. UP2D11- �4, and a new Architectural Permit No. AP2011-43 to expand its gasolir�e sfafion operations at 2300 Middlefield Road ("Expansion Project"}; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commiss�on of t�e City of Redwood Cify ("Commission") is empowere� by Articfe 42 (Use Permits) of the City of Redwood City Zoning Code to act upon ap�lications for modi#ications of use permits; #�e Commission is also empowered by ArticEe 45 of the Redwood City Zanir�g Qrdinance ta act upor� applications for architectural permits; and WHEREAS, on Octaber 16, 2012, the Cammission considered Addendum No. 2 to the 2007 Final En�ironmental Impact Repor� prepared for the Redwoad City Costco Wholesale Project ("Addendum No. 2"), prepared by the C�ty's Planning Services in accordance with the requirements of the Califomia Environmer�#al Quality Act ("CEQA"} and as part of the City's consideration af#he proposed Use Permit Modification and new Architect�ral Permit; and WHEREAS, on October 16, 2012, the Comrnission conducted a public hearing, in accordance with all ap�licable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Zaning Ordinance, to consider ap�ravaf af the proposed Use Permit Modification and new Architecfural Permit; and WHEREAS, the Cammission has determined that a Use Permit Modification and new Archit�c�t�raf Permit for '�6 fuel pumps (rather than the proposed 20 fuel pumps} ("Approved Project") wauld further the �urposes of and appropriately implement �he City of Redwood City General Plan, a�plicable �ravisions of the Redwood City Municipal Code and Zoning Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: Sec#ion �.
