He noted that members <br /> should only speak one and not both of the nights. <br /> Commissioner Borgens stated that everyone who put in speaker cards should speak, <br /> whether it is this night or the next meetings. <br /> Ms. Ramirez stated that someone could make a motion to continue the item but open <br /> the public hearing tonight. <br /> MOTION TO OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING WITH CONTINUANCE TO THE <br /> 30T" OF OCTOBER <br /> M/S: (Borgens/White) <br /> Motion Passed <br /> Ms. Ramirez stated that anyone who is not present any more could speak on the 30tn <br /> Colt Rymer stated that the reason he moved to Redwood City was the small town feel <br /> and the VA Hospital. He stated that he loves the marina but this plan would give <br /> Redwood City too much of a big city feel. He stated that the harbor should remain a <br /> marina that the public can use. He began to speak on the Costco project but was <br /> stopped. <br /> Chair Schmidt stated asked Mr. Rymer to stop because that item was already voted on. <br /> Lorianna Kastrop spoke in favor of the proposed development. She stated that the <br /> outgoing tenants are creating a controversy. She stated the slip holders sign a month- <br /> to-month lease and know of the temporary nature of their agreements. She spoke about <br /> people with clipboards aggressively asking members of the public to sign a petition <br /> against the project. She stated those people were giving inaccurate numbers. She <br /> stated that Paula Uccelli has been kind and fair and has been repaid in hostility and <br /> personal attacks. She noted that this is private property. She noted this development <br /> has been ongoing for a decade and the latest information is the result of a thorough and <br /> accurate process. She stated this development adheres to the City's General Plan for <br /> this area and will bring both needed housing and property taxes to the City. <br /> * It may be prudent to note this speech appears to be sarcastic. Joseph Rosas stated <br /> that he was speaking in favor of the development. He stated Pete's Harbor must be <br /> developed. He stated there are two severe shortages: jobs and high-end waterfront <br /> housing. He asked where the well off would dock their boats. He asked why Paula's <br /> corporation should be expected to use union labor. He commended Mrs. Uccelli for <br /> earning her anti-bullying award regardless of events.
