Five Island (20 Fueling Position) Costco Gasoline Operations To provide further information on the effects of the fuel station expansion, operations of the two existing 5 island (20 fueling position) locations were further reviewed. While the trip generation for the Scottsdale location is higher than the existing Redwood City fuel station, it was observed that the increased number of fueling positions allows for more efficient processing of vehicles, shorter wait times, shorter queues, and less idling. Table 19 shows the queuing observed at the two existing 5 island Costco Gasoline fuel station locations (Scottsdale and Tucson), as well as those observed at the existing Redwood City site for comparison.
