Additionally there is potential savings in annual personnel costs based on <br /> the type and configuration of companies staffed at the new station. <br /> San Mateo County currently staffs Fire Station 18 at 200 Edmonds Road. The County <br /> has made inquiries into having Redwood City and San Carlos assume emergency <br /> response into Station 18's area. While this is still under evaluation, the potential annual <br /> savings to each city could be up to $400,000. This is an early estimate and is based <br /> solely on what San Mateo County currently budgets to run Station 18.
