Walking and Bicycling Audits <br /> Consultant shall coordinate the audit logistics with the schools and Redwood City 2020. The <br /> audit time, may be a week day or weekend, however it is recommended to take place at school <br /> arrival or dismissal time. Once the dates and times have been set, Consultant shall work with <br /> the City and Redwood City 2020 to notify stakeholders. Potential stakeholders include: <br /> Redwood City Engineering and Police Departments, Redwood City School District, parent <br /> representatives, school staff representatives, and students. <br /> Consultant shall develop English and Spanish audit fliers for distribution to stakeholders and <br /> provide as a PDF. At each audit, there will be a Spanish translator available. The audits will <br /> begin with a short overview of the process. During the audit, participants will observe and <br /> evaluate the existing behavior and physical conditions including circulation issues, barriers, and <br /> routes to and from school. <br /> After the audit, the Consultant team shall host a one-hour working session with participants. The <br /> Consultant shall provide large format maps where participants can discuss challenges and <br /> brainstorm solutions. During the working session, the Consultant will also gather input on <br /> suggested routes for walking and bicycling to school. <br /> Consultant shall send the Project Manager a summary of comments gathered at the audit and <br /> working session. <br /> Task 2 Deliverables <br /> • Audit schedule (email) <br /> • Audit flyer (PDF) <br /> • One audit and working session per school including: <br /> o Process overview <br /> o Audit <br /> o Working session <br /> o Audit comments summary (one per school) <br /> Task 3. Infrastructure Inventory <br /> Based on the outcomes of the audits and working sessions, Consultant shall identify the routes <br /> to and from school. Consultant shall then inventory the routes, noting: <br /> • Crossing guard locations <br /> • Sidewalk conditions <br /> • Curb ramp conditions (overall condition, not ADA compliance) <br /> • Crosswalk markings <br /> • Presence of pedestrian features such as: <br /> o Curb extensions <br /> o Pedestrian refuge islands <br /> o Crossing beacons <br /> o Advance stop bars or yield lines <br /> • Traffic control including: <br /> ATTY/AGR/2013.039/FHWA CALTRANS FUNDED PROFESSIONAL AGR WALK BIKE ASSESSMENTS <br /> REV:03-14-13 VR <br /> Page 16 of 30 <br />
