The responsible review authority mav approve an <br /> exception to the minimum hei�ht requirement, provided that at least one of the <br /> following findin�s can be made: <br /> a. The proiect is constrained bv unusual parcel size, shape, or other features that the <br /> responsible review authoritv accepts as renderin�this requirement infeasible; or <br /> b. The prolect is providing usable quasi-public or public open space on site, adiacent to <br /> the primary street ri�ht-of-way. <br /> D. Roof Hei�ht Exceptions. The responsible review authoritv may approve an exception to the <br /> maximum hei�ht requirement to accommodate a roof, if all of the followin�findin�s can be <br /> made: <br /> 1. Compatible Such hei�ht exception will be compatible with surroundin� properties, <br /> uses, and nei�hborhood; <br /> 2. Number of stories. Such hei�ht exception will not exceed the allowable number of <br /> stories permitted pursuant to re�ulations in Table 54-3; and <br /> 3. Necessary. The roof is limited to the height necessary for its proper functioning or to be <br /> consistent with a particular architectural stvle. <br /> 54.8 FaGade Composition and Architectural Re�ulations <br /> A. Buildin�Orientation and Entrances. <br /> 1. Nonresidential Entrances. Street-facin� primary entrances shall be unlocked and <br /> accessible to the public durin� business hours. Entries shall be clearly defined features <br /> of front facades and of a scale that is in proportion to the size of the building and <br /> number of units bein� accessed• lar�er buildin�s shall have a more prominent buildin� <br /> entrance, while maintaining a pedestrian scale. <br /> 2. Transitional Space at Residential Entries. New residential buildin�s shall provide <br /> transitional spaces in the form of stoops, overhan�s, and porches between public areas <br /> fronting the primary street and entrances.
