04/08/2013 3. Automobile Service Uses. a Major Automobile Service Use Restrictions. All malor vehicle/equipment repair, restoration and stora�e areas and operations shall occur within an enclosed buildin� Used or damaged equipment removed from vehicles during the repair process shall be stored indoors or shall be deposited in an approved covered outdoor collection receptacle for appropriate off-site disposal. Outdoor stora�e and work areas are prohibited. b Automobile Service Bay Screenin� and Location. Service bays for vehicle repair (maior and minor) restoration and stora�e shall be screened from direct view from a public ri�ht-of-way and private properties. If service bavs face a street, the service bays shall be situated parallel to a secondary street or alley or adequate screened bv structures. 55.3 New Streets and Pathways Re�ulations A. New Streets Sites in excess of one acre shall be desi�ned to provide block and street patterns consistent with the adiacent properties and/or surroundin� contextual environment New streets shall establish a pedestrian-friendly interconnected street network with no block face exceeding 400 feet in len�th unless determined bv the responsible review authority to be infeasible due to location of rail lines afong the block or other insurmountable existin� conditions. B. Street and Pathwav Connectivitv. New development shall maintain and enhance pedestrian bicycle transit and vehicle connectivity with a hierarchv of streets and pathwavs consistent with the street typolo�v identified in the Redwood Citv General Plan (Figure BE-14) Primary pedestrian access to buildin�s shall be from the sidewalk. C. Pedestrian-Oriented Desi�n/Pedestrian Access. The design of new proiects shall promote walkabilitv and connectivitv to include design and orientation standards such as: 1. Enhanced Streetscapes Streetscapes shall be enhanced with enriched streetscape elements includin� but not limited to a varietv of landscapin� and pedestrian amenities, such as benches pedestrian-scaled li�htin� trash enclosures, and bicycle stora�e. 2. Internal Connections. A svstem of pedestrian walkways shall connect all buildings on a site to each other to on-site automobile and bicvcle parkin� areas, and to any on-site open space areas and pedestrian amenities. 3. Internal Pedestrian Walkwavs Width. Internal walkways shall be a minimum of six feet wide where located adiacent to anv common open space areas.
