Par�ies include �i�e 5an Mateo County Transit <br /> Dis�rict {District), �he Peninsula TrafFic Congestion Relief Al(iar��e (Alliance), the County of San <br /> Matea (County) ar�d the City of Redwood City (City), each of which is referred to herein <br /> ir�dividually as"Parry"and jointly as"Parties." <br /> I <br /> Project_Description <br /> The Making the Lasl�Mile Connectian Projett (Project}, including the pfanning, impleme�tation, <br /> i-narketi�g, operations, and oversight of a two-year demonstration project, is being funded by <br /> MTC's Climate Initiatives grant program. The program will implement a suite of trar�sportatinn <br /> demand management (TDM) strategies in the City o� Redwood City to tes��i�e contribution that <br /> TDM can make toward our regional Sustainable Communitias Strategy. <br /> The TDM S�rategies beEng implemented under the Project are: <br /> • Car Share: Pods will be located at the Redwood Ci�y Caltrain Station and two TBD <br /> downtown locations <br /> • Shart-Distance Vanpool: Vanpools from both Caltrain and residential sites to worksites <br /> p Telewark & Flex-schedules: San Matea Co�nry wil! re-launch i�s Flex-schedule and <br /> Telework programs, which wi(i be promoted to County managers and emplayees <br /> p Residential and Employer/EmpEoyes Targeted Marketing: Marketing for a!1 TDM <br /> strategies, targe�ing residents, empioyers, and employees. <br /> The goal of this Projec� is that the availability of all these travel options and marke�ing af new <br /> and existing TDM strategies will change both residents'and employees'travel habits away from <br /> single-occupancy personal vehicle travel, which will result in reduced vehicle miles traveled <br /> (VMT) and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Mode shift would be evafuated �For each indi�idual <br /> TDM stra�egy. An integral part of this goaf is a reduc�ion in VMT by�ive (5) percent in <br /> Redwoad City. <br /> The MTC Climate Initia�ives grant-funded Regianal 8ike Share program will implement bicycles <br /> within Redwood City. As part af the Last Mile program, the Redwaod Ca�y locations of this <br /> regio�al program wil( be included in the Project's targeted marketing efFor�. <br /> Th� Last Mile team will coardir�ate with the Regior�al Bike Share projec�team ta ensure all <br /> information included in the Project's marketing efFor� is correct and appropriate. All i <br /> management, planning, ar�d implementation for the Regional program are under a separa'�e <br /> con�ract with MTC and are not the responsibility of this Project. <br /> In summary, the targeted marketing efFarts for the �ast Mile program will include marketing �nr <br /> other transportaYion demand management strategies implemented in Redwood City, not strictly <br /> limited ta the Last Mile Car Share, Si�ort-distance Vanpool, and Telework& Flex-schedules <br /> strategies funded through the Last Mile program.
