She <br /> stated that the intent of the letter was to express concerns about the fees which <br /> began at very high rate and have gotten much more reasonable and closer to <br /> where they think they need to be. The largest part of the bill is the securities fees <br /> and she stated that under Supreme Court authority cannot be assessed to these <br /> media on this trial because the City would be doing it based on the content. She <br /> further stated that although the City may plan appropriate measures, those costs <br /> cannot be passed along to the media. <br /> Council Members asked various questions of Ms. Wilcox and made comments. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> MIS Bain/Foust to adopt a resolution temporarily closing to generally westbound <br /> traffic on Middlefield Road beginning at approximately one hundred and fifty feet <br />'~ from Veterans Boulevard to Bradford Street; suspending the maximum parking <br /> period permitted and rate of parking fees on said street; and authorizing the <br /> parking of news media vehicles on said street and the City's parking lot at the <br /> corner of Main Street and Bradford Street subject to issuance of revocable vehicle <br /> parking licenses and payment of established fees. : <br /> ADOPT RESOLUTION 14573 TEMPORARILY CLOSING TO GENERALLY <br /> WESTBOUND TRAFFIC ON MIDDLEFIELD ROAD BEGINNING APPROXIMATELY <br /> ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FEET FROM VETERANS BOULEVARD TO BRADFORD <br /> STREET, HEREINAFTER THE "MIDDLEFIELD PARKING AREA," AND TEMPORARILY <br /> CLOSING THE CUL DE SAC OF FULLER STREET FROM ALLERTON STREET <br /> GENERALLY EAST TO WINSLOW STREET, HEREINAFTER, THE "FULLER CUL DE <br /> SAC"; SUSPENDING THE MAXIMUM PARKING PERIOD PERMITTED AND RATE OF <br /> PARKING FEES FOR THE MIDDLE FIELD PARKING AREA AND FULLER CUL DE SAC; <br /> AND AUTHORIZING THE PARKING OF NEWS MEDIA VEHICLES AT THE <br /> MIDDLEFIELD PARKING AREA, THE FULLER CUL DE SAC AND THE CITY PARKING <br /> LOT LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN STREET AND BRADFORD STREET <br /> SUBJECT TO ISSUANCE OF VEHICLE PARKING LICENSES AND PAYMENT OF <br /> FEES <br /> The motion passed by a majority roll call vote with Vice Mayor Pierce voting <br /> no and Council Member How~rc:! ilbs~n~, <br />~ 7.
