6.1.A. - Page 2
ANALYSIS
Amendment No. 2 will expand Ms. Levin's scope of work to include:
• Facilitating a planning process that results in a SRTS strategic plan
• Interfacing with the City on the implementation of walking audits at six schools
• Writing grants to fund non-infrastructure elements of the SRTS program and
assisting the City and County in writing infrastructure grants
• Administering and / or directing the administration of the existing SRTS non-
infrastructure grant scope of work for which RWC 2020 is responsible.
Implementation of the Federal Non-Infrastructure Safe Routes to School Grant requires
knowledge, expertise and capacity not present within RWC 2020's staff. The consultant
is well-qualified to provide the needed leadership and administration of the Safe Routes
to School Program and to maximize use of existing resources and potentially increase
resources to support walking and biking to school.
ALTERNATIVES
Council may elect not to authorize the City Manager to execute the amendment.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost of this contract amendment shall not to exceed $46,000. A portion of the
Federal Non-Infrastructure Safe Routes to School Grant will be used to fund the new
scope of work. Since these funds are included in the budget, there is no fiscal impact
as a result of approving this contract amendment.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines, section
15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or foreseeable physical
change in the environment.
i..: -a,-.
PAT BROWN, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
REDWOOD CITY 2020
 ,
`. ',yjy'.;-- -- _
AUDREY SEYMOUR RAMBERG
ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER
