The references <br /> provided satisfactory feedback in regards to accountability and performance of the <br /> contractor. Based on the bids received and feedback from the references, staff believes <br /> that the low bid is reasonable and responsive and recommends award the contract to <br /> R.C. Benson and Sons, Inc. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2013 and <br /> conclude by the end of August 2013. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff to redesign and/or rebid <br /> the project. Construction costs and Consultant Contract Administration fees may <br /> increase if completion of this project is significantly delayed. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds for the general work of this project were approved and appropriated in the Fiscal <br /> Year 2012/13 budget as Capital Projects Fund — City Hall Second Floor Modifications <br /> which has an available balance of $325,958.61 as of March 3013.
