; EXHIBIT A <br /> . REDWOOD CITY FIRE STATION NO. 10 FIRE SPRINKLER UPGRADES <br /> Contractor shall add approximately 60 new fire sprinkler heads from the existing fire <br /> sprinkler system to the first floor living space, the second floor dormitories, and the attic <br /> of Fire Station No. 10 located at Jefferson and Myrtle. Contractor shall rework fire <br /> sprinkler system compliant with all local codes and regulations. <br /> A. Desian Requirements <br /> 1. The fire sprinkler design shall be prepared and stamped by a licensed <br /> engineer or architect in the State of California. <br /> 2. The automatic sprinkler design shall provide full coverage for all areas of the <br /> building where required by code. The system shall be hydraulic calculated for <br /> 0.2 gpm over the most remote 1,500 sq. ft., which is Ordinary Hazard Group <br /> 2. <br /> 3. Base the piping system and arrangement of heads upon Architectural and <br /> Structural considerations. All pipe sizes and number of heads to be used for <br /> each area or room shall conform to the requirements to the California Building <br /> Code, Fire Marshall's Office, and latest edition of NFPA. <br /> 4. Sprinkler heads shall be pendant position at suspended ceilings and in <br /> upright or pendant position at all other locations, or as directed by the City. <br /> 5. Equally space sprinkler heads between lights, walls, befinreen lights and <br /> diffusers and other obstructions. Provide uniform and repetitive pattern for <br /> each room. <br /> 6. Obtain the latest water flow test data from the City's water department to <br /> determine volume and pressure available from incoming water supply. <br /> 7. The type, size, arrangement configuration and hydraulic calculations shall be <br /> approved by the City's Fire Marshall. <br /> B. Submittals � <br /> 1. Prior to obtaining approvals noted below, submit reflected ceiling scaled <br /> Drawings in accordance with City's Standard Drawings. The drawings shall <br /> show sprinkler heads in relation to lights, air diffusers, ceiling joists and tiles, <br /> speakers, TV outlets, and any other ceiling outlets or obstructions. Complete <br /> shop drawings shall be submitted and approved by the City before installation <br /> of any work. <br /> 2. Shop drawings shall show the location of all sprinkler heads, piping, bracing, <br /> hangers and anchors and shall include all necessary working drawings <br /> showing complete details of the piping within the building. <br /> 3. Before receiving final acceptance of the work, furnish written statement to the <br /> effect that the Work has been completed and tested in accordance with the <br /> accepted Drawings and Specifications. <br /> 9 <br />
