Evaluation of 2826 El Camino Real in Redwood City, California.
<br /> This report is a limited historical evaluation of the building at 2826 El Camino Real in
<br /> Redwood City. The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the building's eligibility for
<br /> the National Register of Historic Places, California Register of Historical Resources, or
<br /> local designation.
<br /> The research consisted of a site visit,photos, visual inspection of the building, a review
<br /> of historic Sanborn maps, a San Mateo County appraisal report, historic aerial photos,
<br /> research conducted by the Redwood City Public Library and additional research of city
<br /> directories conducted at the San Mateo County Historical Museum.
<br /> This review was conducted by Richard Brandi who holds an M.A. in Historic
<br /> Preservation. He is currently listed as a qualified architectural historian with the
<br /> California Historical Resources Information System. With over 10 years of professional
<br /> experience in architectural history and historic preservation, Mr. Brandi meets the
<br /> requirements of a Qualified Professional as set forth by the Secretary of the Interior.
<br /> Construction History
<br /> The building is one of two located on a corner lot (APN 059-172-070) on the corner of El
<br /> Camino Real and Oakwood Drive. The building with an address of 2808 El Camino Real
<br /> was built in 1955 and was not further reviewed. The building with an address of 2826 El
<br /> Camino Real is the subject of this review.
