typically 250 feet,to ensure that raptor or migratory bird nests will not be
disturbed during project construction.
2.4.2.3 Tree Impacts
The project proposes to remove all existing trees on the project site and plant new landscaping
throughout the proposed development. The trees on-site may provide some nesting and/or foraging
habitat for raptors, but are not high quality habitat and are not suited for preservation in place or
relocation due to poor health. The loss of these poor quality,non-heritage trees is not considered a
significant impact. In addition, the project proposes to plant trees within the parking lot, along the
southern boundary and around the perimeter of the building, and along the El Camino Real and
Oakwood Avenue frontages. The planting of approximately 45 trees would offset the loss of the
trees to be removed as a result of the project. (Less Than Significant Impact)
2.4.3 Conclusion
Implementation of the proposed mitigation will reduce impacts on raptors and other migratory birds
to a less than significant level by minimizing the potential for conflicts between project construction
activities and nesting and breeding activities of raptors and other migratory birds. (Less Than
Significant with Mitigation)
The project will have a less than significant impact on trees.
