Based upon the bids received, staff believes <br /> that the low bid of $139,379.75 is reasonable and recommends awarding the contract to <br /> JJR Construction, Inc. <br /> Construction will begin in July and conclude in August. Notification of the proposed <br /> work will be mailed to area residents and Henry Ford School on or around June 4, 2013. <br /> Project updates will also be available on the City's website. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff to redesign and/or rebid <br /> this project. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds under Gas Tax Construction Fund for Pedestrian Crosswalk Warning Light <br /> Program has been previously approved and appropriated with an available balance of <br /> $371,395.15.
