Nomination papers are available through <br /> the City Clerk only. <br /> The City Council will certify the November 5, 2013 election at its Special City Council <br /> Meeting of December 9, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. and the incoming Council Members will take <br /> office at the Regular City Council Meeting of December 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. as per City <br /> Charter § 5 and 9. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> The City Council could elect to conduct its own elections but this would dramatically <br /> increase the costs to the City and to candidates. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> There will be a cost to the election, and this cost depends on multiple factors. The <br /> approximate cost per registered voter could be between $2.00 and $2.25. As of May <br /> 13, 2013 the number of registered voters in Redwood City was 36,222.
