This benchmarking study is comprised of twenty other <br /> agencies and their existing water rates for FY 2012/13. This study does not take into <br /> account these agencies pending rate increases for the 2013/14 fiscal year. <br /> In consideration of the proposed water rate increase, staff initiated the following public <br /> notification activities: <br /> • Three display ads in the Daily News with information about the proposed rate <br /> increases along with the date, time, and location of the May 22, 2013 community <br /> meeting and the June 10, 2013 public hearing. <br /> • Held a community meeting that provided an in-depth overview of why rates are <br /> increasing and information about the rate protest process. <br />
