By the end of the five-year term of the agreement, the Fire Chief will <br /> prepare and submit a five-year strategic plan. This plan will identify other shared station <br /> opportunities, new staffing options for medical calls, as well as alternatives as they <br /> relate to the use of squads or other emergency response vehicles. <br /> Redwood City has provided fire services to San Carlos since 2011 with no degradation <br /> in service delivery. Through community feedback and support, it is evident the Fire <br /> Department has become an integral part of the San Carlos community. Redwood City <br /> Fire Department has sustained a high degree of community connection for the past 152 <br /> years and will continue this tradition for the San Carlos community. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> 1. Not approve the Amended and Restated Agreement or the Transfer of Fire <br /> Services Personnel, and continue with the current contract. <br /> 2. Direct staff to commence the process for terminating the original Agreement to <br /> Provide Fire and Emergency Services to San Carlos. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> By providing services to the City of San Carlos, as identified in the proposed <br /> Agreement, the City of Redwood City will receive $5,570,024 in the first year. This <br /> allocation of funds will offset operating costs in the general fund. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br /> This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines section 15378, <br /> because it involves continuing administrative activities and has no potential for resulting <br /> in either a direct or foreseeable physical change in the environment. <br /> �� <br /> JAMES F.
