<br />~ --~ <br /> WHERf:AS, pUrS.Uðlit to the .1969 agreement die 19"69 <br />-authority retained e¡1gineers (hereinafter referred to) to <br />prepare and submit the project Report hereinafter defined <br />and the Project Report has been submitted to and accepted by <br />the 1969 authority and the cities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Project Report recommends the con- <br />struction of Stage 1 of the Project as hereinafter defined, <br />being a subregional wastewater treatment plant and related <br />facilities, to serve the Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to applicable state and federal <br />laws and regulations a final environmental impact report <br />relating to Stage 1 of the Project and dated November 1974 <br />was prepared_by the steering committee provided for in the <br />1969 agreement with the assistance of J. B. Gilbert & <br />Associates and has been approved by the 1969 authority <br />and the environmental impact report process has been com- <br />pleted; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Agencies recognize that the exigencies <br />of said water quality control problems within their respective <br />jurisdictions require that the Agencies coordinate their <br />efforts in solving said problems by executing this Agreement <br />to supersede the 1969 agreement and to implement the Project <br />Report and the construction of Stage 1 of the Project; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the above <br />premises and of the mutual promises herein contained, the <br />Agencies do hereby agree as follows: <br /> ARTICLE I - DEFINITIONS <br /> Section 1.1. General. Unless the context otherwise <br />requires, the words and terms defined in this Article shall, <br />for the purposes hereof, have the meaning herein specified. <br /> 1005025 <br /> 2 <br />
