Cit7 Council <br />Jan iary 17, 1966 8:00 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Bury. <br />Invocation led by Chaplain Walter Johnson, Segvol a hospital. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. Granger, <br />Sidnej D. Herkner, Robert G. Petersen, William H. Royer, Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor John S. <br />Rosselli_, and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. <br />Ullrich, City Attorney Richard F. Gardella, Police Chief William Faulst_i.ch, Fire Chief <br />J. L. Lodi, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Senior Planner Speer McClellan, Zoning Coordinator <br />William Shackelford, Auditor -Accountant Jack Ferance, Recreation Director A. S. Morton <br />Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini, Water Superintendent Warren Mitchell, and Deputy City <br />Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Wez,mouth moved to approve Minutes of Regular Monthly Study Meeting of January <br />10, 1P66, and Minutes of Executive Session of January 10, 1966, as mailed, seconded by <br />Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Magor hosselli announced those present for discussion of items on the regular study meetinFy: <br />t h i.ch had not been considered because of Council meeting :in Executive Session, would be <br />heard after the scheduled public hearings. (Presentation of preliminary plans, Sw_imm:infr, <br />Pool at Hoover School - Discu,^„?on of requested Ednewood Hills Annemat:i.on ) <br />Loyalty hath was administered and Certificate of Appointment presented to Frank A. DePatta, <br />as nearly appointed member of the Veterans Memorial Commission. <br />Continued PU T,TC HEARING, Resolution of Intention, Laurel Way Annexation, declared open <br />a.n& a_f'f idavit i of publication and mailing were ordered filed. Letters of protest <br />weyo receiived from the following: <br />William A. and Charlene R. Holtman, 3765 Laurel Way <br />Henry and Clara Baer, 3769 T,aurel today <br />George N. and June Meredith, 3726 Laurel Way <br />Charles E. and Barbara Pitman, 1203 Truman Street <br />(owners of Lots 1.2, 1?, & 14, Block 8) <br />City Clerk _reported written protests amounted to 94.67M of the total assessed valuation. <br />City Attorney advised majority protect received determined proceedings must be terminated. <br />Councilman. Royer moved to close the public :nearing, seconded by Councilman Bury and carried. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION ro. 4890 BEING RESOLUTION OF THE COU?NICT?: OF <br />TH7 CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FINDING AND DETi±,REINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION <br />TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERT ATM UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "LAUREL WAY <br />Al` U7XATTON", HAS BEEN MADE BY OWNERS OF ON". -HALF OF THE VAi.,UE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITH!',,, <br />SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, seconded by Councilman <br />Petersen and carried on roll call vote. <br />PUBLIC HEARING, Resolution of Intention of the Planning Commission to rezone from R-2 to <br />R-4, all of Lot, 12, Block G, ':aoodside Acre„ Map No. 1 ( 16:1.2 Gordon Street) declared <br />open and affidavits of publication and mailing were ordered filed. Report o? the <br />Plann-in7 Commission and Staff analysis was reed in which it was stated the previous <br />R-4 zoning ofL of 12 was changed to 2-2 evidently in error when Ordinance ll" Q wa.: <br />adopted as building of the Woodside Acres Iloopita.l itself is on t:he dividing line <br />between R --Li and R-2. <br />Carl. Reichardt, 1570 Gordon, asked if it was possible <br />for this property to have access from Hawes Court, and <br />further questioned expansion plans of the hospital. <br />Mr. Reichardt was advised expansion plans were ao depicted on the illustrated ;Aide <br />and no evidence of hospital being interested in access to Hawes Court nor had they <br />participated in the improvement District.
