Minutes of Regular Monthly Study Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />May 9, 1966 7:30 P. M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Carol Long, Jerrie Stickney, Candy Lawson, Debbie Condie <br />and Kim Tenga, of Brownie Troop #16Q1. <br />Invocation led by Reverend John Haverland, of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Robert H. Bury, Floyd D. <br />Granger, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, John ). Rosselli, Mayor Sidney D. <br />Herkner, and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilman Petersen noted absent (entered <br />meeting at 'T:40 P. M.) Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Atty. <br />Richard E. Gardella, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police Chief William <br />Faulstich, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Planning Director <br />Ken Schroeter, Zoning Coordinator William Shackelford, City Librarian Karl A. <br />Vo.11mayer., Recreation Director Alfred Morton, Park Superintendent Pasco Balzarini, <br />Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, Water Superintendent Warren Mitchell, Building <br />Inspector S. H. Kreiss, and Deputy City Clerk Marian McCrindle. <br />Loyalty Oaths administered and Certificates of Appointment presented to following: <br />Gordon Hanson, Board of Building Review; William R. Oeser, Planning Commission; Ann <br />Gooding and James Knecht, Park and Recreation Commission (Loyalty Oath and presen- <br />tation of Certificate of Appointment made individually to Mr. Knecht later in the <br />meeting as not present at this time.) <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of May 2, 1966, as mailed, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />BID OPENING, Altamont 'qday, Midfield Way, Utah Way and Vicinity Improvement District. <br />The following bids were received: <br />J. B. Hanauer & Co. 97.06% par value 5.25% interest <br />Stone & Youngberg 98.26% " 512e10- It <br />First California Co. 96.380 " " 5% 11S. C. Pohlman Co. 95.510 " 5-3/4% " <br />Tannen, Winslow & Co. 97.2 " " 545 " <br />Mayor Herkner ordered bids referred to Attorney for the District and Staff for <br />Checking and a report back to Council. <br />Continued PUBLIC HEARING, Vista Drive Annexation, declared open. City Clerk advised <br />Council, only the one written protest had been received, as reported at the previous <br />public hearing, representing 11.05% of the total assessed valuation of the land, which <br />is $28,950. There being no further written or oral protests, Councilman Rosselli <br />moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried. <br />Councilman Bury moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 5023 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED "VISTA DRIVE ANNEXATION" HAS NOT <br />BEEN 14ADE BY PUBLIC AND/OR PRIVATE OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF SAID TERRITORY <br />AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL, seconded by Councilman Rosselli1 and <br />carried on rola call vote. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to introduce Ordinance of the City of Redwood City calling a <br />Special Election to be held on the 5th day of July, 1966, pertaining to the annexation <br />of "Vista Drive Annexation" to the City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Granger <br />and carried on roll call vote. <br />
