City Manager stated Staff recommended granting of this request. Councilman Petersen <br />moved that permission be granted to Redwood City Jaycees for use of Hawes Park for <br />donkey baseball game as requested and usual safeguards of insurance be requested, <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER ;#66-96) <br />Communication addressed to City Managers and City Clerks for attention of Mayors <br />and City Council from Richard Carpenter, Executive Director and General Counsel of <br />League of California Cities, concerning loss of Federal Aid Revenues for Highways. <br />Council requested copies of this communication be submitted and referred to Legis- <br />lative Committee for recommendation to Council concerning action next week, (May 9th) <br />(Memo 5/3/66) <br />Announcement made of League of California Cities Institute for New Mayors and Coun- <br />cilmen to be held in Monterey May 22-25, and request made for reservations for <br />those wishing to attend. <br />Councilman Rosselli asked for a status report on pornographic book stores in Redwood <br />City at next Council meeting. (Memo 5/3/66) <br />Councilman Rosselli also questioned lack of lighting at new parking lot at Veterans <br />Memorial Bldg., and was advised by Staff this was being provided for. <br />Councilman Rosselli also protested political signs which seemed to have been placed in <br />violation of ordinance. Councilman Granger moved Staff be directed to remove all <br />signs which had been placed in violation of ordinance, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. (MINUTE ORDER ;#66-97) <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Councilman Granger and <br />carried. Meeting adjourned at 10:10 P. M. <br />HELEN C.
