He stated he <br />would like very much to see the P designation <br />eliminated from the F,dgewood Hills property. <br />John Hickey, P44 Ferndale tray, protested a.nnexa- <br />tion. to Redwood City of any part: of his property, <br />although not a part of this proposed annexation. <br />Councilman Teckley informed Mr. Hickey if his property were included in a portion <br />where majority desired to annex, he would be included.. <br />Planning Director reviewed procedures necessary by both Planning Commission and <br />Council to effect any chance in either use or density with "P"-Combi.nina District <br />imposed. He, however, advised Planning Commission not altogether satisfied with <br />ordinance concerning this section and that it might possibly be in need of a <br />review. He also advised the Council of the advantages of use of the "P" Com- <br />hininr District in areas of this size for obtaining a more attractive and better <br />planned development, with a scrutiny of preliminary plans being possible whereas <br />this would not be as applicable under .regulatory restrictions, which tend to pro- <br />duce only stereotyped and uninteresting plans. Discussion held on serving <br />of utilities to this area and further questioning as to density proposed by <br />-rd ndditien of statement by Councilman Henderson---' <br />zoning recommended. 7-. <br />...a Redwood City Civic Assn., <br />appeared to protest; the "P" designoti.on to this <br />zoning. <br />Mr. Aubrey Fairfax, 175 Atherton, and owner of <br />property adjoining Fdgewood Road, stated their <br />desire this site be chosen for college site, but <br />i.n event it: was not, stressed fact zoning had <br />to be such that it would be economi.czii ly feasible <br />to develop. <br />Council questioned possibility of continuing public hearing until on amendment <br />be made to zoning ordinance concerning P designation. Councilman Petersen moved <br />to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 60.1..5 to <br />Ordinance No. ll?0, the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance, prezoning property in the <br />vicinity of the proposed Edgewood Hills Annexation, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli, and lost by tied roll call vote, Councilmen Bury, Henderson, and <br />Teckley voting no, Councilmen Petersen, Rosselli and Mayor Herkner voting yes, <br />Councilman Granter being noted absent. <br />After further discussion as to merits of prezoning and time schedule should amend- <br />ment be made to Zoning Ordinance concerning P designation, Councilman Petersen <br />moved to reconsider a reintroduction of the prezoning ordinance proposed, seconded <br />by Councilman Rosselli and carried on rollcall vote, Councilman Bury voting no, <br />Councilman Granger being noted Pbsent. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to re -introduce Ordinance prezoninF Rdgewood Hills <br />Annexation, seconded by Councilmen Rosselli and carried on roll call vote, Coun- <br />cilman <br />oun-cilman Bury voting no, Counc il_mon Granger being noted absent. <br />
