correct misleading article in the �'ribune concerning the Report and his of;n action <br />on the Committee recommendation, in that he agreed 100/ with recommendation with the <br />exception of one item only in which he had voted no relating to whether "Bayfront <br />Freeway" should be removed from existing maps, all other recommendations having <br />been voted on unanimously by the Committee. Councilman Royer asked this be on <br />Council's Agenda for Febrnaary 21st. (Memo 2/15j66) <br />City PJa.nager reported receipt of a resolution from Canada County Water District that it <br />is their intention to provide water service to the San Mateo Junior College District <br />Site at Woodside, California. He stated Resolution states District was formed for <br />the express purpose of providing water service i;ithin a certain service area within <br />which major portion of the proposed San Mateo Junior College District site is <br />located. <br />He reported further that he had been advised the College of San Mateo intended to <br />file a document which would release them from the restrictions of service within <br />this service area, as they do not feel district able to furnish water for their <br />requirements. City Attorney advised on points of State Water Code on which he <br />felt District was basing its opinion concerning whether tax exempt lands such as <br />college are exempt from liens for water bonds. City Attorney further adviser' he <br />understood a suit was to be filed whether provision in Code applies to tax exempt <br />bodies and until answer received no action advised for Council to take at this time. <br />He also stated resolution from District stating College site is within the District's <br />boundaries is not true as a portion is in Redwood City and outside the District. <br />City Manager stated Staff would be asking for Council policy decision at a later <br />date on water and sewer service situation in regards to college site after suit <br />is filed. <br />Request of Circle Star Theatre that City obtain permission from Division of Highways to <br />use a portion of State property to construct an egress road f rom their parking lot <br />discussed. Slide shoe,;n of site proposed for egress road, running parallel to <br />Veterans Boulevard, portion of which is in the State right -of. -way. City Manager also <br />�_n.dvised "ircle Star Theatre stated they would bear full costs of egress road which <br />would benefit City to reduce traffic congestion exiting to Industrial Way and Whipple <br />"A ve nue . <br />He stated no firm cost estimates were available for construction of this road and <br />it was possible when costs are known, Circle Star might feel they were unable to <br />bear the costs. Mayor Rosselli questioned open drainage ditch in the area and size <br />of pipe necessary to carry flow of water or type of drainage necessary. <br />Traffic Engineer stated cross -drainage pipe across exis- <br />ting road should suffice as two drainage pipes now drain <br />out the other side of Veterans Boulevard. He also discussed <br />speed to bring traffic back to Veterans Boulevard and design <br />of road for this purpose from parking lot. <br />Councilman Royer questioned whether Traffic Bureau had studied this request and <br />made a recommendation. <br />Traffic Engineer stated it was studied and agreed to. <br />
