Planning <br />Commission recommended approval subject to condition that any nei^a electrical <br />service installation be by underground conduit, and as reported in their recommen- <br />dation submitted to Council previously. <br />Councilman Granger moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 4927 GRANTING EXCEPTION TO PROVI- <br />SIONS OF CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF RED,^JOOD CITY BEING THE SUBDTVTSION <br />REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CTTY, AND r°:PPROVING A SUBDIVISION THF.RE.UND?R - <br />° ENCS G. BRTAN & CO. f^.ND GTOVANNT PLOM,1,,110, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and <br />carried on roll call vote, Councilman Herl ner being noted absent. <br />Counc_,lman Royer, as Counc_1 representative to the Bay -Front Committee, stated he would <br />recommend Council's support of. Bay -Front Comm-11ttee Report which had taken many <br />months of study from information submitted by some 19 different groups and wcu]-d <br />indicate to County and citizens of Redwood City the stand of Council on this report, <br />�,nci be an example to other communities fronting bay. He stressed fact Committee in <br />complete concurrence with report as submitted, e:�'cept for the one minor exception <br />,11 he had previously noted at last Council meeting concerning his disagreement with <br />phrase to `remove reference to a Bay -Front Freeway from existing maps", as he feat <br />this should be shown as a "preliminary study" plan only. Councilman Royer also asked <br />tiZ-.t an additional recommendation be included .,!hen Council's recommendation sent to <br />County Regional Planning Commission and .which he stated was fairly covered in <br />e.:pression submitted by the Committee for Greer_ Foothills: <br />(#9 to be added to Council's recommendation to County <br />Regional Planning Commission) <br />"A Bay Front Freeway -is recognized as unnecessary and undesirable <br />at this time, but when proven necessary should be constructed with <br />a minimum of landfill, and a maximum of access (through trestles, <br />bridges, tubes, etc.) to properly flush inner water, wildlife and <br />recreational areas; and further, i.t shad never be proposed as <br />deli.neatin�, outer limits to any bay filling operations". <br />Councilman Royer asked communications received from Committee for Green Foothills <br />and from a Citizens Group in Brisbane be acknowledged. <br />City Clerk announced communications had been also received from the following: <br />County Regional. Planning Committee advising if Council .-wishes to <br />submit a statement on Bay -Front Committee report that it be <br />referred to them by March ist. <br />
