Councilman Royer reported plans basically completed for swimming pool, required soils <br />tests and complete mechanical plans to be completed by end of this week. He sugges- <br />ted Council authorize completed plans be sent to State for review as required, <br />immediately upon completion, as time element for State's review would probably make <br />for simultaneous review by Council and School District. City Attorney advised Mr. <br />Irwin, architect, had submitted contract data to his office and it would take <br />several days to check out. <br />Mayor Rosselli mentioned several comments from residents of the area who contended <br />recreation center had been promised for. Taft School. Councilman Royer reviewed <br />attempts made to get a consensus of opinion as to recreation plans, and since a <br />recreation center at Taft School was not possible, the swimming pool at Hoover <br />School seemed to be the next best solution. <br />Councilman Herkner asked whether question of architect's fees had been settled. <br />Councilman Royer stated architect settled for $1000 extra instead of the $2500 <br />estimated, and a letter was on record confirming this fee. <br />City Manager reported he had received a call from the Chamber of. Commerce that the <br />Peninsula Contractors Association had reviewed the ordinance to be adopted relating <br />to soil reports and soil investigation requirements in Subdivisions, and that they <br />had no objection. <br />City Manager also advised resolution being rea_uested for granting of easements to PGE <br />for 60 nr pole line was part of conditions incorporated in Letter of Intent. <br />Councilman Petersen questioned the Zoning Ordinance amendment proposed relating to <br />automobile service stations. Zoning Coordinator advised only intent was to take <br />service stations out of permitted use and make them subject to a conditional use <br />in IR Districts. <br />Councilman Petersen questioned the Zoning Ordinance amendment proposed relating to <br />architectural supervision in connection with single and two-family dwellings. <br />Zoning Coordinator reviewed circumstances which led to some members of Council <br />discussing possibiii.ty of architectural control by adding A -Combining District for <br />substandard lots, and that this proposed amendment would simply provide that archi- <br />tectural controls may be applied when a parcel does not meet the minimum budding <br />site area requirements of the zoning district concerned, ahich was not possible <br />under present Zoning Ordinance. <br />City Manager reported preliminary plans for the proposed multi-purpose building in <br />Community Park had been approved by the Park and Recreation Commission and recommended <br />Counci_1 authorize architect to proceed with preparation of working drawings. He. <br />further stated he felt it only proper to ask the Architectural Review Committee to <br />review the plans also before submitting them to Council on March 14th. <br />C. 1,1. Lebsack, Attorney for the arrest Side Ailey Improvement District, stated Agenda item <br />proposed on this subject would have to be postponed as complete property descriptions <br />had not been submitted.
