Minutes of Regular Monthly Study Meeti.ni <br />Redwood City Council <br />March 14, 1966 7:30 p. m. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Herkner. <br />invocation .led by Reverend S. 0. Thorlaksson, of Messiah Lutheran Church. <br />ON ROLi, CALL the following .%,ere noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Sidney <br />D. Herkner, Herbert G. Petersen, Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor John S. Rosselli, and City <br />Clerk Helen C. Moore. Councilmen Robert H. Bury (entered the meeting at 7:35 p.m. <br />and William H. Royer (entered the meeting at 7:42 p.m.) were noted absent. Also <br />noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich., City Attorney Richard E. Gar - <br />della, Police Chief William Faulstich, Fire Chief J. I,. Lodi, City Engineer Glenn <br />M. Jain, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, Senior. Planner Speer McClellan, Zoning <br />Coordinator William Shackelford, Water Superintendent Glarren Mitchell, Traffic <br />Engineer Arthur U. Eskelin, T3uilding Inspector S. H. Kreiss and Deputy City Clerk <br />Marian McCrindle. <br />Councilman Granger moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of March 7, 1966, <br />as mailed, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Mayor Rosselli announced Paul Adamson would make progress report on Improvement Dis- <br />tricts Nos. 1-65 and 2-65 and 3-65, and Mater Superintendent would make supple- <br />mentary report on recommendation for a Master Plan for improvement of Friendly <br />Acres Water System. <br />Mr. Adamson described work being done under these improvement districts from illus- <br />trated charts, and outlined preparation phases of other projects, which he stated <br />generally was adhering to the scheduled timing plan. He stated Bay Road Storm <br />Dra.i.nag,e System was under construction and to be completed this summer, and pumping <br />plant nearing completion with last of equipment arriving for it. He stated pre- <br />liminary work nearing completion for advertising for bids of main creek channel from <br />Marshall downstream, planned for closed conduit, and in connection with this .job <br />and apparently under same contract should be Bradford Street Pumping station and <br />main drain lines in Bradford Street, with provisions for utilities and stubbing <br />for street improvements. <br />Councilman Bury entered meeting at 7:35 p.m. <br />Mr. Adamson stated with completion of pump station a. good deal. of relief would be <br />given in this area. He reviewed Middlefield to rl Camino project, SD -(+,discussion <br />held with owners of property .regarding alignment and nature of improvements to go <br />in; reviewed work starting on Bay Road supply main to connect from Hetch-Hetchy system <br />into Industrial area to supply additional water to that part of City, incorporating <br />Lathrop and Finger Avenue line; reviewed wor'.c under way and planning which is well <br />under way on main trunk sewer down below Veterans Blvd. and going up into Western <br />part of City which was hoped would be ready to go to bid early this summer; reviewed <br />also some of work being done on sewage pumping plant and planning; to figure best <br />arrangement for location of future service. He stated all of this work so far des- <br />cribed amounts to about $1,912,000 now under construction, or to be under construc- <br />ti on this summer. 'Mork is well under way :.in planning; for additional construction <br />which v -ill amount to about $2,395,000. <br />
