Park and Recreation Commission Page 3 <br /> Min�tes of May 23, 2007 <br /> -Park Development Ordinance <br /> Director Centeno announced that she and Superintendent Hover have been <br /> doing outreach to the development community and have met with several <br /> developers. She reported they have also met with Planning Department staff <br /> regarding the timing of the ordinance as well as the in-lieu fee. The next <br /> step will be to go to the City Council Finance Committee to determine how <br /> we should proceed. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Superintendent Beth announced the following events: <br /> May 31 - Teen band concert in Courthouse Square <br /> )une 1 to September 28 (18 weeks) - Friday night concerts in Courthouse <br /> Square <br /> )une 2 - Pet Parade, World Environment Day (Red Morton Park) <br /> June 27 to August 22 (8 weeks) - Wednesday evening concerts at Stafford <br /> Park <br /> )uly 21 - Blues Festival in Courthouse Square (PAL event) <br /> )uly 21-22 - Two concerts at Port of Redwood City <br /> August 11-12 - Two Shakespeare performances in Courthouse Square <br /> Five Summer Concerts in Marlin Park (Redwood Shores Community <br /> Association) <br /> Director Centeno announced the Council's Budget Session will be held on <br /> June 25. Items proposed for FY 07-08 budget: 1.0 Senior Building <br /> Maintenance Worker for our department to assume maintenance <br /> responsibilities at Courthouse Square; .50 Facility Aide, elimination of staff <br /> voluntary time off for the Custodial and Landscape Maintenance units. <br /> Director Centeno introduced Michael Jones and Lizeth Chavez of the Boys and <br /> Girls Club. <br /> Chairperson Slusser announced the Palo Alto Park and Recreation <br /> Commission will be holding a joint meeting with other city's park and <br /> recreation commissions to talk about common problems and issues. <br /> Commissioners Sargent and Swope will be attending. <br /> ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA <br /> -Staff Recommendations regarding re-naming City parks and facilities; <br /> Presentation from HUCA and Planning Department regarding Master Plan of <br /> Union Cemetery; Commissioner )oseph-Hover to present on behalf of <br /> Peninsula Hills Women's Club regarding art and wine event. <br /> The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br /> at 8:30pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the <br /> Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
