Park and Recreation Commission Page 3 <br /> Minutes of June 27, 2007 <br /> -Park Rules Enforcement <br /> Superintendent Hover reported our staff met with staff from the City of San <br /> Mateo to gather information on their Park Ranger program. A report will be <br /> made at the July meeting. <br /> -Hoover Park Renovation Project <br /> Chairperson Slusser reported about the community meeting held at Hoover <br /> Park on June 9. Lots of feedback was received from 20-25 neighbors <br /> attending the meeting. Director Centeno commented on the great support <br /> received from the Boys and Girls Club on this event. Superintendent Hover <br /> stated the architects are currently working on a base proposal and it is <br /> expected there will be another community meeting in about one month. <br /> -So/ari Windmill <br /> Superintendent Hover reported the shingles have been installed on the <br /> outside of the windmill and the roof will soon be completed. <br /> ITEM 4 — STAFF UPDATES <br /> -Pet Parade <br /> Staff reported the event was well received and estimated that 800 people <br /> were in attendance. <br /> -Park Development Ordinance <br /> Director Centeno reported that she and Superintendent Hover attended the <br /> June 18 meeting of the City Council Finance Committee. She stated the <br /> Committee is recommending a 50% fee, to exempt affordable housing, to <br /> remove additions from the fee and to perform a Nexus Study on commercial. <br /> It was noted that the Park In-Lieu fee, the Park Standard, and the Needs <br /> Assessment will be heard at the August 13 Council meeting. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Commissioner Swope stated that she and Commissioner Sargent attended <br /> the Park and Recreation Commissioners Forum on May 24. She said they <br /> were interested to hear what other cities are doing as well as discuss <br /> shoreline amenities and artificial turf. <br /> ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA <br /> -Presentation by Planning Department regarding Union Cemetery Master <br /> Plan, Park Development Ordinance <br /> The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br /> at 8:32pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the <br /> Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
