PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2007 <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Slusser, Vice Chairperson White, <br /> Commissioners Joseph-Hover, Sargent, Swope, Truscelli, and Wright <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli <br /> STAFF PRESENT: Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendents Gary Hover <br /> and Chris Beth, Administrative Assistant Denise Monroe <br /> Chairperson Bob Slusser called the regular meeting of the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission to order at 7:33pm in Room 5 of the Community <br /> Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> The minutes of the September meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> There was no correspondence. <br /> ITEM 1 — PRESENTATION OF DRAFT ANNUAL REPORT <br /> Director Centeno expressed her satisfaction that our department met a large <br /> number of goals established in the 2004 Strategic Plan and noted that other <br /> important objectives are almost complete. She said she was proud of our <br /> accomplishments which included the Park Development Ordinance, the Park <br /> Standard, update to General Plan, Park Needs Assessment, as well as <br /> updating the Park Rules. <br /> Director Centeno reviewed the draft annual report with the Commissioners <br /> and asked for their comments. The Commissioners agreed to provide their <br /> written corrections/additions to Director Centeno for inclusion in the final <br /> document. Superintendents Hover and Beth spoke about the future plans for <br /> their respective divisions and the Commissioners requested that this <br /> information be included in the Annual Report. The approval of the Annual <br /> Report will be brought to the Commission at their November meeting. <br /> ITEM 2 — SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Park Needs Assessment <br /> Superintendent Hover reported a sub-cammittee meeting will be held this <br /> week. <br />
