Park and Recreation Commission Page 2 <br /> Minutes of October 24, 2007 <br /> -Park Rules Enforcement <br /> Superintendent Hover reported the sub-committee will be meeting tomorrow <br /> at 11:OOam. <br /> -Hoover Park Renovation Project <br /> Superintendent Hover stated the sub-committee met on October 19 and will <br /> be meeting again in the next 2-3 weeks. It was reported that the group <br /> decided to eliminate the handball courts in the new design, add more lighting <br /> and widen the walking paths. <br /> -So/ari Windmill <br /> Commissioner Joseph-Hover reported the October 20 Windmill Celebration <br /> was well attended and thanked staff for a great job, specifically <br /> Superintendent Hover and Park Manager Valerie Matonis. At the request of <br /> some of the Council members, staff is working on making the windmill <br /> operational. <br /> ITEM 3 — STAFF UPDATES <br /> -Park Deve%pment Ordinance (PDO) <br /> Director Centeno announced the second reading of the Park Development <br /> Ordinance was completed at the October 22 City Council meeting and that <br /> the ordinance will go into effect on December 22, 2007. <br /> -Skate Park Fence <br /> Director Centeno reported that staff is waiting for three bids for the fence <br /> installation. Commissioner White reported visiting the City of Walnut Creek's <br /> skatepark recently and noted that it has the same type of fencing planned for <br /> our skatepark, and said he approved of its appearance. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -The Commissioners decided not to hold a December Commission meeting. <br /> -Director Centeno announced the following events: <br /> October 27 Spooktakular from 12:00-3:Opm at Red Morton Center <br /> Fleishman Park Tile Program from 1:00-3:OOpm <br /> ��Scare on the Square" Movies at 6:45pm <br /> December 7 Board & Commission Event - please RSVP to City Clerk's Office <br /> ITEMS FOR NEXT MONTH'S AGENDA <br /> -Approval of Annual Report, Election of 2008 Officers, Set date for Work Plan <br /> Session, Bird Bath Project <br /> The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was adjourned <br /> at 8:45pm to be reconvened at 7:30pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 <br /> at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
