Community Development <br /> Director Deborah Nelson has invited the Commission to the April 26 <br /> meeting regarding the selection of the City Hall architect, either as an official <br /> body or as individuals to speak. Commissioners Piulle and Moran plan to <br /> attend and act on behalf of the Cultural Commission. <br /> ITEM 7- DISCUSSION OF BROWN ACT <br /> The Commissioners discussed aspects of the new Brown Act is it related to <br /> the Commission meetings and protocol. Commissioner Piulle indicated her <br /> displeasure with the new Brown Act and pointed out that in an emergency <br /> the Commission can make funding decisions on items not on the agenda. <br /> The Commissioners felt that the new Brown Act restrictions make for a less <br /> informed Commission and eliminated spontaneity from the meeting. <br /> ITEM 8- DISCUSSION OF EL CAMINO YOUTH SYMPHONY LETTER <br /> REGARDING APRIL 30 CONCERT AT FOX THEATER <br /> Chairperson Filippi announced that El Camino Youth Symphony is looking <br /> for audience participation during their Fox Theater performance on April 30. <br /> They are looking for a soloist to play one percussion instrument and also <br /> someone to conduct the orchestra. Chairperson Filippi said he was interested <br /> in conducting and will contact Sara Salsbury directly. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Commissioner Ball said tickets for the Sunday, April 24 performance of <br /> Chicken's Ball will go on sale on Tuesday, April 11 outside the Veterans <br /> Memorial Senior Center Little Theater at 10:30am. There are a limited <br /> amount of tickets available and if you are interested, please see Chris Oliver <br /> before April 11. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle said the Sequoia Art Group was invited to exhibit at <br /> the Farmer's Market on July 2. Chairperson Filippi said live entertainment <br /> will be provided on July 2, 3 and 4 by the PCA. <br />
