M/S Distefano/Ball: To use Gary joe and the Rowdy Boys to play for the <br /> Climate Best Fest and have the Commission provide <br /> funds for a sound system up to $400.00 to pay by invoice <br /> and to provide the use of the old staging. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> M/S Piulle/Moran: That the Commission pay for Deuce II for the Climate <br /> Best Fest at a cost of$600.00. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Chairperson Filippi will notify john Holt so the Commi.ssion can originate a <br /> contract with each band selected. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended "Gypsy" at the Fox Theater and said it was well <br /> done. She mentioned Peter Bliznick will be producing a newsletter which <br /> will go to art patrons. <br /> -Commissioner Distefano announced Peter Bliznick was voted as a member <br /> of the Redwood City Art Center Board of Directors. <br /> -Chairperson Filippi announced a "Music Drama Festival" to be held on <br /> Saturday, August 27 which would consist of workshops from 1:00-5:OOpm and <br /> a performance at 8:OOpm at Carrington Hall. Cost is $10.00 for participants and <br /> $5.00 for spectators. This activity is sponsored by the Performing Arts <br /> Committee for the Sequoia Centennial. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle stated the San Francisco Chronicle has a Friday section <br /> for Peninsula events and suggested that the Commission send articles to be <br /> included in the newspaper. <br /> M/S Piulle/Ball: To adjourn the meeting in memory of Dorothy Philbrick. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned in <br /> memory of Dorothy Philbrick at 10:15pm to be reconvened at 7:OOpm on <br /> Thursday, September 1, 1994 at the Community Activities Building, 1400 <br /> Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br />
