-Superintendent Hartman said the Vintage Music Theater's grant request will
be on the December agenda. She announced they will be holding a Gala Tea
Dance on November 17 at 7:30pm at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center
and all Commissioners are invited to attend.
-Superintendent Hartman noted she received a letter sent to Ed Everett from
the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (jPB) concerning the new art
program at CalTrain Stations. The JPB will be applying for federal
Transportation Enhancement Activities (TEA) funds to launch a new art
program along the CalTrain right-of-way. The letter explained that every City
along the Cal Train right-of-way is being invited to apply for funding. Each
City must limit its request to $25,000 per station or $50,000 spread across
multiple stations. Each City would be responsible for all expenses above the
amount requested on their letter of support. A letter of support from Ed
Everett is due by Wednesday, November 15 to JPB.
M/S Piulle/Distefano: To send a letter from the Cultural Commission in
support of this project.
Motion passed.
ITEM 1 -LIBRARY PROGRAMS
Supervisor Hedges was unable to attend this evening's meeting but provided
a list of activities being held at the Library during November. DES, Inc. will be
preparing the study which should be completed after January 1. Steve Penna
stated the committee is currently evaluating different groups to determine
usage of the facility and asked that any group who would like to use
Carrington Hall to please contact him.
ITEM 2-MUSIC IN THE SCHOOLS GRANT REQUEST
Commissioner Piulle excused herself from the dais as she is a member of the
San Mateo County Arts Council Board of Directors.
