-The Commissioners generally were not supportive of convening a special <br /> meeting on short notice to hear the grant request made by Redwood City <br /> International. They felt this should have been handled at a regular meeting <br /> since calls had been made to the Department as early as August concerning <br /> this grant request. <br /> -Commissioner Filippi thanked the people who attended the Heritage <br /> Association dinner in his honor. He felt a letter should be sent to Redwood <br /> City International indicating the Commission's displeasure. He said he <br /> received a phone call from the manager at Long's Drugs in Sequoia Station <br /> who indicated they had windows open at the store for art work. <br /> Commissioner Filippi said he called i am Thornberg who produced art work <br /> from students at John Gill School within 24 hours. He asked that a letter be <br /> sent to Long's corporate office thanking them for their support of displaying <br /> art work in their store windows. He asked that "meeting protocol" be listed <br /> on the December agenda. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle asked if anyone attended the Redwood Shores event <br /> held this summer that the Commission funded. She noted the Bay Arts '95 <br /> event held at Twin Pines on October 26 received 178 entries. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned at <br /> 10:31pm to be reconvened at 7:OOpm on Thursday, December 7, 1995 to be held <br /> at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood <br /> City, California. <br />
