-A letter from the San Mateo County Arts Council stating that the <br /> Civic Cultural Commission was selected to receive a 1995 Arts Star Award in <br /> the outstanding sponsor category and an awards luncheon will be held on <br /> February 22 to honor all the recipients. Monies budgeted for training for the <br /> Commissioners have not been used this fiscal year and it was suggested to use <br /> these budgeted funds to pay for the Arts Star Awards luncheon. Perhaps the <br /> City can pay for half of the registration fees for the luncheon since it is a good <br /> networking tool. <br /> -An Action Alert was received regarding budget issues of the California Arts <br /> Council. <br /> M/S Piulle/Ball: To send a letter to appropriate elected officials in support of <br /> the California Arts Council budget. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 1- LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> The following are activities to be held at the Library during February: <br /> February 15 - Senior Health Lecture-"Living Well with Chronic Disease"-Kate <br /> Long, RN, Ph.D, 10:30am <br /> February 21 - Childrens' Program-Yolanda Rhodes, Storyteller and Singer, <br /> 7pm <br /> February 25 & 26 - Archives Committee Open House-"Sequoia High School's <br /> Centennial" in the Community Room, 1-4pm <br /> February 8, 14, 16 - Project Read, Tutor Training, 6-9pm <br /> Homework Club: <br /> Free drop-in homework help: <br /> Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, from 4-8pm, Main Library <br /> Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3-5pm, Schaberg Library <br /> Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3-5pm, Fair Oaks Library <br /> For Children: <br /> Mondays-Bedtime Storytime for ages 3-8 at 7pm, Main Library <br /> Tuesdays-Preschool Storytime for ages 3-5 at 10:30am, Main Library <br /> for ages 3-6 at 11am,Fair Oaks Library <br /> Toddler Storytime for ages 1-3 at 11:30am, Main Library <br /> Pre-School Storytime for ages 3-5 at 3pm, Schaberg Library <br /> Toddler Storytime for ages 1-3 at 4pm, Schaberg Library <br /> Time Out for Parents (TOPS) babysitting service is available for busy parents <br /> on Saturday afternoons from 2-4pm. The service is for ages 1-8 for one-half <br /> hour periods. <br /> Supervisor Hedges noted the new on-line automated catalog is an <br /> overwhelming success and Internet access will begin in the Spring. <br />
