-Commissioner Filippi said art from local elementary schools is on display at the Long's Drugs Store at Sequoia Station and requested that a thank you letter be sent to the manager of the store along with a Cultural Commission brochure. M/S Filippi/Distefano: To send a thank you letter to Long's Drugs for exhibiting art of elementary school students. Motion passed. M/S Moran/Filippi: To prepare a short program to present at the Art Council's breakfast on March 17 with Chairperson Redington as the speaker. Motion passed. Chairperson Redington and Commissioners Ball and Moran will attend the breakfast. ITEM 1 - LIBRARY PROGRAMS Supervisor Hedges thanked the Commission for inviting her to attend the Arts Star Awards luncheon with them. She reviewed the following activities to be held at the Library during March: March 7, 9, 13, 15 - Project Read Tutor Training, 6-9pm March 15 - Senior Health lecture - "Skin Cancer and Other Skin Changes in the Mature Years", Dr. Edward Sprague, 10:30am March 16 - Joe Marchi, "Irish Contributions to the American Musical", 7:30pm March 18, 25 - Free tax assistance for basic forms. No appointments, drop-in help, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). March 21 - Special Childrens' Program -7pm March 29 - Teen Program -"How Do We See Ourselves"-4pm Homework Club: Free drop-in help: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4-8pm, Main Library Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3-5pm, Schaberg Library Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3-5pm, Fair Oaks Library Supervisor Hedges invited everyone to use their new on-line automated circulation and catalog system, It will tell you which libraries own the materials you are seeking. It will tell if a book is in the library or checked out. It will allow you to place your own reserves. Dial in access will be available after March 20. Internet will be available sometime in late April on two terminals.
