ITEM 5-CONCERT SERIES Supervisor Hannon gave each of the Commissioners a proposed schedule for the 1995 Concert Series for their review and comments. M/S Piulle/Distefano: To accept the proposed 1995 Concert Series schedule. Motion passed. ITEM 6- GRANT REQUESTS FROM FEBRUARY The Commissioners discussed the fact that the Port Commission would be meeting next week and would be making a decision whether they would be sponsoring the 1995 Concert Series. Pending grant applications before the Cultural Commission include the Sequoia Alumni Association $4,500; Redwood Shores $3,000; and Heritage Association $100-200. The Commissioners discussed that fact that the Redwood Shores Homeowners Association's grant request included a concert and the Commission has already proposed scheduling two concerts in the Redwood Shores community for its 1995 Concert Series. M/S Piulle/Filippi: To grant $4,265 to the Sequoia Alumni Association contingent on Port Commission funding. This grant will be assigned priority #l. Motion passed. M/S Distefano/Piulle: To fund one concert in Redwood Shores listed in the 1995 Concert Series schedule contingent on Port Commission funding as priority #2. Motion passed. M/S Filippi/Moran: To fund $200.00 to the Heritage Association contingent on Port Commission funding as priority #3. Motion passed. M/S Filippi/Distefano: To extend the meeting an additional 15 minutes. Motion passed. ITEM 7-ART CONTEST Supervisor Hannon reported that all contest entry forms have been delivered to the elementary schools and are due back to the department by Friday, March 10. It was noted that the subject matter was difficult for some children because they were unfamiliar with the locations of the historical buildings in the City but hopefully this would help raise their consciousness of this matter. Commissioner Ball mentioned that Geri Meyers has trophies to donate for the art contest.
