xr <br /> -Commissioners Moran and Ball attended the last event in the Joe Marchi <br /> series and noted it was very good and there was a good turnout. <br /> -Commissioner Ball attended the "Broadway on Parade" at the Fox Theater <br /> on April 1 presented by the Peninsula Musical Theater and noted the <br /> program was good but there was a very poor turnout and could have been <br /> done in a smaller theater. <br /> -Commissioner Piulle announced the San Mateo County Historical Museum <br /> will be moving into the Redwood City Court House. She noted that the <br /> College of San Mateo newsletter featured an article about sculptor Ante <br /> Buljan. She also attended the "Picasso was Once a Child" program. Part 1 had <br /> 20-25 children in attendance, Part 2 had 40-45 children, and Part 3 will be held <br /> on April 23. The San Mateo County Arts Council is holding a poem and art <br /> contest for people aged 55 years and older and a reception will be held on May <br /> 23 at the County Government Center for the contest winners. <br /> -Chairperson Redington spoke about the presentation he made at the "Arts <br /> for the Future" breakfast sponsored by the San Mateo County Arts Council on <br /> March 17. He also spoke about the recognition received by the Commission at <br /> the March 27 City Council meeting. <br /> M/S Filippi/Distefano: To send a thank you letter to the Port Commission <br /> which will be signed by all the Commissioners. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Superintendent Hartman announced that Henry Use has received the <br /> "Bravo Award" from Hillbarn Theater and will be honored on May 8 at an <br /> awards presentation ceremony. <br /> -The Commissioners said good bye to Commissioner Betty Moran as this was <br /> her last meeting on the Civic Cultural Commission. <br /> The regular meeting of the Civic Cultural Commission was adjourned at <br /> 9:55pm to be reconvened at 9:OOam on Thursday, May 4, 1995 to be held at the <br /> Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, <br /> California. <br />
