Mr. Lickteig and Mr. Bliznick explained the distribution of their
annual brochure brings in new subscribers as well as continuing customers.
The cost of this brochure has increased due to increases in bulk mailing costs
and paper costs.
Commissioner Saye asked about the percentage of the total budget that goes
for royalty costs and Mr. Lickteig stated that royalty costs account for 10-15% of
PCS's budget. Commissioner Filippi asked PCS what productions they were
planning for the coming year and Mr. Lickteig said they are looking at 9-10
prospective musicals. Commissioner Filippi asked how many people
attended PCS performances last year and Mr. Bliznick stated that over 17,000
tickets were sold last year and approximately 600-700 complimentary tickets
were issued. Commissioner Filippi asked if PCS was receiving Historic
Preservation funds from the three performing groups the Cultural
Commission funded last year and Mr. Bliznick stated they had received funds
from the Raices de Mexico and El Camino Youth Symphony performances.
Commissioner Filippi asked if the Fox Theater would be available during
Christmas if the Cultural Commission decided to sponsor an event during
that time. Mr. Lickteig said "Music Man" would be held December 1-17 and
the theater would not be available during this time. Mr. Lickteig and Mr.
Bliznick explained PCS will be offering 35 nights of performances during this
next season.
Commissioner Distefano asked about the $2,000.00 in the PCS funding request
which represented the discount PCS gives to seniors and students.
