-Superintendent Hartman reviewed a letter she received from the Peninsula <br /> Corridor Joint Powers Board regarding funding for art for the CalTrain <br /> station. <br /> ITEM 1-LIBRARY PROGRAM3 <br /> Supervisor Hedges announced the open house for the Fair Oaks Library will <br /> be held on January 11 from 4:OOpm-7:OOpm and invited all the <br /> Commissioners to attend. A new program for teen volunteers has just begun <br /> and several teens have signed up. She mentioned Diane Middlebrook will <br /> have a program beginning at the end of March. A copy of the January Library <br /> activities is att�ched. <br /> ITEM 2-VINTAGE MUSIC THEATER GRANT REQUEST <br /> This item will be deferred until the February meeting. <br /> ITEM 3-EL CAMINO YOUTH SYMPHONY GRANT REQUEST <br /> The Commissioners asked questions of Sara Salsbury of the El Camino Youth <br /> Symphony regarding their grant request. Commissioner Piulle asked about <br /> the consultation fee of a Fox Theater technician listed in their budget. <br /> Commissioner Saye offered to post flyers for the concert in downtown <br /> Redwood City. Commissioner Ball asked about the rent charged by the Fox <br /> Theater and how many people were expected at this year's performance. <br /> Commissioner Filippi asked Ms. Salsbury to notify John Gill and McKinley <br /> Schools about the rnncert. He said he wants to know how many children will <br /> go free to the concer*_ so the Commission can send a letter to ask the Fox <br /> Theater to waive the $1.00 fee per ticket. <br /> M/S Filippi/Fischer: To grant El Camino Youth Symphony $2,000. <br /> Commissioner Saye mentioned he would try to get a publicity item in the <br /> Redwood City Tribune for the concert. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 4- CARRINGTON HALL REPORT <br /> Commissioners Saye and Fischer reported on the progress of the Carrington <br /> Hall Committee. The structural study will begin on January 6 and will not <br /> take long to complete. The Committee is looking at forming various sub- <br /> committees to work on different subjects. The committee is also looking <br /> for a stronger p�rtnership with the schools. <br />
