Commissioner Fischer said the committee discussed their future at the last committee meeting. She felt we should wait for the results of the structural study before future goals are established for the committee. Commissioner Filippi suggested having Committee Chairperson Steve Penna and Vice Chairperson Frank Bravo attend a Commission meeting to present the committee's recommendadons regarding their future goals. Commissioner Ball felt it is very important for representatives from the School District and Sequoia High School to attend the mmmittee meetings. Commissioner Piulle suggested presenting the results of the structural study and the facility usage report at a committee meeting when the school representatives are in attendance. Commissioner Fischer requested copies of the committee minutes be sent to Superintendent Merle Fruehling and the Board of Trustees. ITEM 5-REDWOOD QTY EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION No one from the Redwood City Educational Foundation was present. ITEM 6-CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITI'EE FOR THE ARTS UPDATE Commissioner Filippi reported the committee's next meeting is Thursday, January 11 at 10:30am at McKinley School. He said john Gill students were invited to two music assemblies at McKinley School which proved to be very successful. At the meeting next week, the committee will discuss the make- up of the committee. Commissioner Piulle reminded the Commissioners that they were given a survey at the December meeting which needs to be turned into Pat Nugent. The following items were taken out of order: ITEM 8-MEETING PROTOCOL DISCUSSION The Commissioners darified that "Focus 96" is meant to include anything that would augment, enhance or increase new projects that the Commission is involved in. "Evaluation of Cultural Events" would include any events or meetings attended during the past 30 days. "Announcements" would be announcements only. The Commissioners requested that the year end report should indude the names of the groups requesting grants, the amount requested and the groups that were turned down. Commissioner Filippi wanted something in writing from the City Attorney clarifying conflict of interest.
