Civic Cultural Commission page 2 <br /> Minutes of November 7, /996 <br /> M/S Filippi/Redington: To draft a letter to the Fox Theater to allow students <br /> to watch the technical dress rehearsals free of charge; the letter <br /> should also ask for the Fox Theater's written response. <br /> The Commissioners discussed including a time limit on students' visit time. <br /> Commissioners Filippi and Britschgi will write the letter with staff. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The following items were taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 5-SUB-COMMITT�E REPORTS AND FUNDING REQUEST <br /> =Tis the Season Holiday Event <br /> Loretta Knight reviewed the activities to be held during the 'Tis the Season <br /> program week. She stated the committee is very excited about the planned <br /> events, PSA's have been sent out, and tickets are being purchased for the <br /> various events. The next and last meeting of the sub-committee will be held <br /> November 12 at 7:30pm at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. Ms. Knight <br /> discussed the need for advertising, media coverage, and a banner in order to <br /> make this a successful program. Cost of the 8 page insert in the Redwood City <br /> Tribune will be approximately $1,000.00 with ad space to be sold in the insert. <br /> Cost for advertising posters will be $55.00 and a banner will cost $375.00. <br /> Commissioner Distefano said the Redwood City Almanac would provide <br /> pre-publicity free of charge. Ms. Knight stated $1,500.00 would cover all the <br /> necessary advertising costs. <br /> M/S Distefano/Redington: To allocate $375.00 plus tax for the banner. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> M/S Saye/Redington: To allocate a maximum of $1,500.00 for publicity <br /> for the `Tis the Season program. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> Ms. Knight asked about advertising date deadlines for the insert and the <br /> Commissioners agreed to let the sub-committee decide the dates. <br /> ITEM 1-LIBRARY PROGRAMS <br /> Supervisor Celia LaRiviere was unable to attend this evening's meeting. The <br /> list of Library November events are attached to the minutes. <br />
