Commission Page 6 <br /> Minutes of November 7, 1996 <br /> Motion passed. <br /> M/S Filippi/Saye: To extend the meeting another 15 minutes. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The Commissioners discussed the recommendation to purchase banners to <br /> advertise the concert series. <br /> M/S Redington/Britschgi: To purchase a double-sided banner for Broadway <br /> and a single-sided banner for Sequoia High School or elsewhere. <br /> Commissioner Saye suggested hanging a banrier on Broadway above the <br /> Courthouse Coffee Shop. Chairperson Piulle suggested purchasing only one <br /> single-sided banner to see how it would work and trying to locate a spot to <br /> hang it. <br /> Motion Amended Redington/Saye: To buy two single-sided banners. <br /> Motion passed. (5-yes, 1-no Piulle) <br /> Commissioner Filippi asked to have Stafford Park renovation changes on the <br /> December agenda as he would like to have the Cultural Commission in on <br /> any renovation plans that might impact our concert series. <br /> M/S Filippi/Redington: To extend the meeting to 10:OOpm. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ITEM 8-FOCUS 96-97 <br /> Commissioner Distefano will be the Cultural Commission liaison to the <br /> "Home Room", a newspaper sent out by the Redwood City Elementary <br /> School District. <br /> ITEM 9-EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD DURING THE <br /> PAST 30 DAYS <br /> -Commissioner Filippi attended the Max Morath performance; he mentioned <br /> the Redwood City archway was featured in a Texas newspaper article; he <br /> congratulated the Park and Recreation Department staff for winning the <br /> Halloween Costume Contest sponsored by the City Clerk's Office; he noted he <br /> will be speaking on behalf of the Commission at a November 16 Art Share <br /> meeting. <br /> -Commissioner Distefano spoke on the well attended City employee <br /> Halloween contest and said that she really enjoyed herself. <br /> -Commissioner Britschgi attended an American Heritage doll convention in <br /> Albuquerque. <br />
